Red Sentai Isekai Ep 11: The Power of Bonds

Ep 11 of Sentai Red Isekai show us the ultimate power in any series: the power of friendship (and bonds too)! We get to witness an incredible display of “our feelings is stronger than your magic” ending with a pretty cool upgrade for Kizuna Kaiser.
But the power of Bonds isn’t always positive. Everything has a dark side to it – and Red’s power as well. As we can see in this episode, as much as he can use the link between people to power-up, the negative obsession with bonds can also be used.

Azir who briefly came back to his old self was quickly absorbed, and turned into a sand tornado. It is quite unusual actually for a Sentai Gattai to fight an actual natural disaster. We’ve seen many mirage monsters and illusion types before, but literal sand like this is pretty unique. That is why we need a pretty unconventional way to win as well. It actually made me chuckle that Raniya is unfamiliar with the cockpit and just flail around, while Teltina actually offered her “wisdom” on how to control the Gattai. You can definitely tell that she has been “converted” into a Toku fan lol. Even going as far as saying “If you say something tropey like that, of course it won’t work” kinda thing.

This time, Yidhra came in clutch here – as she is the only one with a magic spell that can turn things around. Although she struggle at first due to not having enough power to rival a literal demon spell, she receive a pretty extensive power up…through the power of love. Yes, only the power of love can overcome this predicament that they find themselves in. It transcended the normal bond that Red was forming with other characters and activated his “Big Bond Soul” – which makes Kizuna Kaiser glow gold! It seems that aside from the Aquarion cameo, the Kizuna Kaiser also “inherit” another Satelight special (looking at you too Hibiki Tachibana!). And in the end, they managed to pull Azir out from the sandstorm, and prevented the disaster.

However, that wasn’t the end just yet. While it is a bit questionable how the elves just basically forgave Azir just like that (maybe noone died yet?), there are bigger fishes to fry. The Royal Demon Vidan and Abu Dhabi is back to cause more trouble, and the team is struggling against them. It makes sense since even with Abu Dhabi alone, Red and Lowji was already struggling, and even with Amen, Vidan is proving to be more than they can match. Without Shauha, it seems like the combined might of the demons exceed that of the good guys. Especially when Abu Dhabi used a very powerful skills called “common sense” for villain and hit Tougo before he can transform.

When things are about to go REALLY south, Red revealed to everyone a new gimmick that he has been hiding: a black bandage. Well, I’m sure fans who watched Kamen Rider Build was screaming “Yabeiiii!” when they see him transform. The henshin line sounds extremely edgy as well, and the aesthetic seems great. The black aura emanating from Red really scares his teammates as well, which makes sense since they’ve never seen something this powerful but…sinister in a way.

This episode’s pacinf is pretty good. And they didn’t insert a Kizuna Five section this time, and it’s basically just plot plot plot all the way to the end. I really like this sort of pacing and it feels like things are happening and progressing at a reasonable pace. I still think Azir was forgiven too easily, but since Vidan basically came out and revealed his crime of manipulating people and Azir as well, that point is rendered moot. Next episode is the finale! Where we can see the true power of the berserker Bond Warrior – Kizuna Black!
