Souzouden Wataru Ep 2 Review: Don’t call me Old Man!

Episode 2 of Souzouden Wataru is basically to explain Offline’s background – and also debut the next Mashin of the series. Since we got a few lined up for Bandai’s HG line, the series pumping them out as fast as they can, as well as fleshing out the main cast as soon as possible so they can continue with the story

Offline’s background story is pretty funny – especially since he basically looks like that most of his life. He just grew a copious amount of facial hair at the age of 6, and they never grew further then XD. The constant 18-year-old placard is probably funny for the kids. Also the part where his forehead grew was pretty funny too. In the end, Offline’s a responsible guy, he has a very strong sense of justice and want to do good for the world. Although he’s a bit clumsy at times, his intention is good, so I really respect that.

This is ep also mark the debut of the Fujinmaru – Offline’s Mashin. So it seems in this series, Wataru will create an elemental Ryujinmaru variation for others – and for Offline, he created a Wind one. Seeing the two fight together was pretty good. Although he villain was goofy as hell, he actually managed to go toe-to-toe with Ryujinmaru, which was pretty insane. Nevertheless, the pair managed to defeat him

Overall, it seems the story will be going on at a cozy pace. Although I am very interested in Kakeru’s journey in Chubukai. It seems he was left to manage alone, which could be pretty tough. Although this world is pretty easy-mode, you can still fall into the wrong hands. It seems Kakeru is still a way away from joining up with Wataru, so I’m hoping we see some more from him.
