Mecha Character Profile: Four Murasame – Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
Four Murasame – a charismatic and lovely girl who eventually did not live a happy life as she should but instead was raised and made as a tool of war for the Earth Federation’s Titans unit. In a fake promise to return her lost memories, Four took part in the Gryps War, not knowing that her life-changing event was on the other side.
I. Background:
– Four Murasame was born on the 29th June, Universal Century of U.C. 0071 but because of the bloody One Year War in U.C. 0079, Four lost her parents and was eventually taken by Earth Federation as an orphan. She was raised inside the Murasame Cyber Newtype Research Lab owned by the Titans where she spent most of her life living there, getting experimented on and trained to become a Cyber Newtype which in exchange, the scientists erased most of her memories, unable to remember her real name or even her past, the name Four was merely from her subject number, although a powerful artificial Newtype, she suffers from brain damage which often causes her a headache. She was promised by Murasame Lab that they will return her memories if she work for them.
– Four was first seen on Earth in Hong Kong after she escaped from a flagship of the Karaba faction – a group of Earth resistance that went up against the Titans, she met Kamille Bidan, the protagonist from Anti-Earth Union Group or AEUG and felt bound with him without knowing that he was supposed to be her enemy, both went on a date and even kissed as well. Later on the evening of the same day, she revealed that she was a mobile armor Psycho Gundam pilot which Kamille tried to stop her destroying the city with his Gundam Mk-II, she was heavily damaged but finally convinced by Kamille to do the right thing, she helped him go back to space but left herself severely damaged and as Kamille thought she was dead, she was actually being taken by the Titans. Later on, Four is seen in Mt.Kilimanjaro, heavily brainwashed until she almost forgot about Kamille and increased her powers by the Murasame Lab along with the repaired Psycho Gundam with the new psycho-control-chair, she encountered Kamille once again along with Quatro Bajeena and Amuro Ray, her instability made her difficult to effectively fight Kamille in his Zeta Gundam, however, as Kamille tries to save her, she instead sacrificed herself saving Kamille from Jerid Messa – Titans’s ace pilot and died in his arms, finally freed from her suffering life. Although this section was entirely removed in Zeta Gudam’s New Translation movie which made Four actually killed by a Titans soldier during Kamille’s escape to space instead.

II. Skills & Abilities:
– Four Murasame is a Cyber Newtype or in easier explanation – an artificial Newtype where her mind powers were not actually originally built into her but rather installed. The Murasame Research Lab is known for its cruel experiments in which Four was one of the lucky ones that did not die before being functional or useful to them, with this she can also sense her surroundings and be able to feel other ordinary Newtypes such as Kamille which she fell in love with. Although since it was artificial, there were flaws, she completely lost her memories from the past before joining the Titans and also did not have a proper name rather than Four – her subject number.
– Aside her poor life, Four is actually a very charismatic and lovely girl, she acts like a normal energetic girl when she met Kamille, although a bit weird because of the experiment’s side effects, Four is a lovable girl and would live better life if the corrupted Murasame Lab used her as a tool for their desires. For them, Four is a formidable Cyber Newtype pilot, with the mobile armor Psycho Gundam as her personal mobile suit which she can also remotely controls it from a distance.

Gundams are already a terrifying sight to see for regular pilots in their mass-produced mobile suits but what if a Gundam gets even larger, stronger and even transformable? The 40-meter Psycho Gundam strikes fear in their eyes.
Some pilots want their Gundam extra thick because they keep getting shot at so instead of dodging, perhaps increasing its armor is a better choice, an armor so thick they were made from the enemies themselves – the Ez8 Gundam.
Oh boy it’s definitely not a Zaku! The Gouf Custom is a fine choice for Zeon’s aces that prefer lighter mobile suits for close quarter combat over the mass-produced Zaku II.
