Mecha Character Profile: Cima Garahau – Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories
In the Gundam series, war is portrayed as a mind-corrupting tool, and many of its survivors became victims who fell for it inevitably. Cima Garahau, although a powerful woman, still cannot escape the vicious cycle of conflict.

I. Background:
– Born in the Universal Century U.C. 0048 as a Principality of Zeon’s citizens. Cima once joined Zeon’s military academy as its instructor before being assigned to Zeon’s marine force – the Marine Assault Unit Cima or MAU as the acting commander. Before the One Year War in U.C. 0079, in 0078, Cima carried an order to inject a lethal chemical G3 nerve gas inside various harmless colonies, traumatizing her and her men. At the end of the One Year War, she was abandoned by the defeated Zeon, which angered her, including the loss of her home at Colony Mahal. She then wandered around Earth’s sphere as the Cima Fleet and her loyal men became a space pirate and wanted criminal by the Earth Federation. She created various connections, including informal access to some of the Earth Federation’s officials.
One day, a former Zeon commander, Aiguille Delaz of the Zeon Remnant’s Delaz Fleet, asked her for help with manpower to support his plan—Operation Stardust, which aimed to strike back the Earth Federation with its own weapon. She accepted and saw this as an opportunity to take revenge on Zeon. Although untrusted by Delaz, she performed her supporting role very well but then lost secret information of the Operation Stardust plan to the Albion crew during their unfortunate meeting.
– Finally, at the end days of Operation Stardust, during a fight on Earth’s atmosphere, Cima hijacked Delaz’s flagship – the Gwaden and killed him right after the dead colony was dropping to Earth, although failed to disrupt the plan she successfully took revenge with the help of Bask Om – who would become the creator of Titans, she is a double agent at that point. Cima had different endings depending on the platform, originally she died by a point-blank shot by Kou Uraki’s GP03 Stamen. In the manga Hero of Stardust, she died in a line of fire of the orbital fleet being abandoned by Bask Om himself, and in the 0083 Rebellion, she faked her death and left Earth to Jupiter.

II. Skills & Abilities:
– Cima is a poisonous, corrupted and scheming woman. Influenced by her past, she does not tolerate mismanagement and always seeks revenge on the Zeon because she was abandoned at the end of the One-Year War. Although it sounds daunting, she is praised by her men as much as she cares for them, making her quite popular among her people.
– Not only a respected leader, Cima is also a very skillful mobile suit pilot, her main mobile suit is the AGX-04 Gerbera Tetra. She encountered the Albion crew in space and survived, even unexpectedly killing one of its top Aces – South Burning. She is also a great commander and strategist, able to create and secure connections with various factions during her time as a space pirate, including the Earth Federation, and manipulate and influence people around her with both soft and hard negotiating skills.
