Figure Review 5Pro – Carbotix – Getter-1

CHANGE! GETTER ONEEE!!
Getter Robo – one of the most hot-blooded mecha franchise EVER! And within it is the absolutely insane Getter Robo Armageddon aka Shin Getter Robo: Sekai Saigo no Hi, where everything is dialed up to eleven. And Studio 5Pro also dialed their figure up to eleven with the Carbotix Getter-1.

2. Design
+ Proportions & Painting: Getter-1 looks like he stepped out from the anime. The proportions, the oversized body and the head, everything just screams Armageddon. He looks perfect. The paint is very beautiful, although you need to be careful since 5Pro isn’t the most durable painter out there. But boi is he HEAVY just like his looks. The die-cast inside him must be through the roof. He even outweights Metal Builds and SOCs.

3. Build quality
The plastic quality of this kit is very good, and the nubs are easy to handle. However, some nubs are still placed in awkward positions, typically the feet and the sides of the shoulder armor. This kit is separated into parts quite well, although there is still a regrettable point that the thruster parts on the back are not separated into parts. Although the number of decals is not small, they are mainly orange lines on the side armor and ‘Gleipnir II’, so it is unnecessary (the illustration only uses decals on the eyes).

4. Articulation
+ Articulation & Posability: Sadly, he isn’t the most acrobatic guy in the neighbourhood (or like in the anime). The biggest limitation are his legs. Though it is ratchet, the range could have been better. Pretty much all the ratchet joints in his body is quite limited, but the shoulders are actually nice. The elbow could use more bend and moving panels but it’s good enough. He can pull off some good poses despite all the limit, but nothing too crazy.

5. Gimmicks and accessories
+ Accessories & Gimmicks: Prob the best part of this figure. If we’re talking about Getter-1, you DEFINITELY need a cape, and 5Pro gave you an amazing one. The material is durable and highly articulated. Very easy to pose it although if you want, you can cut it up a bit more since it looks too…clean. This figure also has the standard double tomahawks and the twin gatlings, but 5Pro went above and beyond to include the special parts to replicate the scene where the guns pop out from underneath its arms. Absolutely beautiful. Aside from that, it comes with 3 pairs of hands.
– There’s more to the gimmicks since with a body that big, of course it has some hidden secrets. The eyes and abdomen hole have LEDs. And they have the correct color too. The gimmick where you pop out the panel to reveal the Getter beam hole is pretty simple but smart. And they looks great.

–> Overall: The DX Gattai Dyna Machines are really fun on their own. They all have their unique quirks and gimmicks that makes messing around with 1 or 2 of them is fun on their own. Thanks to it having SSSS.Gridman’s gimmick where the “main” body can combine with the individual units as well, it does raise the playability of the figures.
